During the Covid-19 Pandemic all activities like studying, shopping, etc., shifted online and the world was forced to use technology and data services. It is now our new normal! The one major problem is that not everyone can afford these gadgets due to their high prices. The U.S. government recognized the importance of technology during the pandemic and is doing something about it.
The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) benefit program that helps ensure that households can afford the broadband they need for work, school, connect to the nation's communications networks, find jobs, access health care services, connect with family and their children's schools, and call for help in an emergency. The ACP is supported by the Universal Service Fund (USF).
The Affordable Connectivity Program replaced the Emergency Broadband Benefit on December 31, 2021. The ACP was created to reduce the digital divide for underserved, underrepresented, and low-income households.
Re-Connect Me has teamed up with Sarver wireless, to give away millions of Android tablets to students and families from underserved communities.
There is a ONE TABLET LIMIT per Household. This rule was established by the FCC. Click HERE for more information about what is considered a “household” to be eligible for the program.
Please refer to the FCC’s (Federal Communications Commission) website regarding ACP Eligibility so that you have the most updated information: https://www.fcc.gov/acp
